WAPaprs maps show are provided in three zoom levels, 500, 2,500, feet and 2 miles. They all have the same screen resolution (about 70 x 90 pixels). The maps are WBMP (Wireless Bit MaP) graphic files which is the standard for WAP application. Some cell phones can display PNG, GIF, or other formats, but WBMP is the universally accepted format for cell phones. The display of a useful map is difficult given the size of a cell phone display. The fact that many cell phones only display black and white, makes it even more difficult to display a meanful map. These maps are therefore limited, but still can be very useful.
